History / Overview

The Honda Accord Hybrid is exactly what it appears to be: it's a version of the brand's popular mid-size sedan, equipped with a gas-electric hybrid powertrain. This third-generation hybrid model arrived in 2018, and is based on the 10th generation gas-powered Accord that arrived the same year. The Honda Accord Hybrid was not modified for 2020.

Available Versions

Honda sells the Accord Hybrid in base and Touring versions, both equipped with a 2.0-litre gas engine and electric motors, whose power is combined and managed by a continuously variable automatic transmission.

Standard Features

The Accord Hybrid's interior is equipped with a 7.0-inch digital display screen, dual-zone automatic climate control, a 12-way power-adjustable driver's seat, heated front seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and a 10-speaker stereo system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

On the outside, the base car is equipped with a keyless entry system, remote starter, 17-inch tires on alloy wheels and full LED lighting with automatic headlight activation and deactivation.

All Accord Hybrid models are also equipped with LaneWatch blind spot display, forward collision warning with automatic braking, lane departure warning with lane keeping assist, traffic sign recognition, automatic high beams and tire pressure monitoring.

The Touring version adds adaptive suspension dampers, an auto-dimming interior mirror, a navigation system, an integrated garage door opener, a head-up display for the driver, front and rear parking sensors, wireless smartphone charging, a four-way power-adjustable front driver's seat, heated rear seats and a heated steering wheel, ventilated front seats, satellite radio, a sunroof, rain-sensing wipers and blind spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert.

This recall was replaced by Transport Canada recall no. 2024-262. 

Issue: 
This recall is for low-pressure fuel pumps installed on certain vehicles or sold at dealerships as a replacement part. 

On certain vehicles, the low-pressure fuel pump could fail. If this happens, the engine may run rough or may not start and the check engine light may turn on. This could also result in a sudden loss of engine power while driving. 
Note: This is an expansion of Transport Canada recall nos. 2020-236 and 2021-182. 

Safety Risk: 
A sudden loss of engine power could increase the risk of a crash. 

Corrective Actions: 
The company will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace the fuel pump motor.

Details:

Issue: 
On certain vehicles, the DC-DC converter may shut down in cold temperatures due to a software error. If this happens, the 12-V battery would stop charging and a warning light would turn on in the instrument cluster. If you continue to drive with this warning on, the 12-V battery can discharge and cause a loss of power to the wheels. 

Safety Risk: 
A loss of power to the wheels could increase the risk of a crash. 

Corrective Actions: 
Honda will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to update the Power Converter Unit (PCU) software.

On certain vehicles, a software problem in the Body Control Module (BCM) could cause different systems and warnings to stop working. This can include: the window defrosting/defogging system, windshield wipers, turn signals and lights, rearview camera display, and power windows.

Vehicle systems that stop working suddenly could increase the risk of a crash or injury. 

Corrective Actions: 
Honda will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to update the BCM software.
